State Farm, Volvo partner to provide car insurance options at point of sale

State Farm and Volvo Car Financial Services are collaborating to provide car insurance options to U.S. customers when they purchase a vehicle.
Consumers will be given a “personalized experience” where they can initiate a quote and purchase insurance coverage in the shopping process, a State Farm press release says. It says consumers are connected with State Farm agents in an effort to serve customer needs, offer competitive pricing, and simplify the insurance shopping experience.
“Making insurance straightforward and simple is another way State Farm is helping meet drivers where they are,” said State Farm Corporate Development Executive Jordan Sax in the release. “Our alignment with Volvo’s core values of safety and simplicity supports our effort to help more people in more ways — it’s about delivering help at every step.”
The release says the collaboration embodies shared values of State Farm and Volvo Cars, including a strong commitment to safety and security. Those values will help consumers find vehicle coverage options personalized to their needs.
“Through this collaboration with State Farm, we are extending Volvo Cars’ commitment to safety and simplicity into the insurance experience,” said Tony Nicolosi, Volvo Financial Services president & CEO, in the release. “Our shared focus on people and protection makes collaborating with State Farm a natural fit. By including insurance in the shopping journey and connecting customers with trusted State Farm agents, we’re creating a seamless, personalized experience that delivers care beyond the vehicle.”
State Farm also recently introduced a real-time collision detection option through its mobile app. The technology provides automated emergency service requests and streamlines claims handling.
The technology is being rolled out to Illinois and Florida drivers first, with broader rollouts pending following pilot evaluation.
When the accident assistance program detects a collision, it immediately initiates contact with emergency services and provides an exact location via GPS technology, a State Farm press release says.
