Chubb’s newest senior vice president of property claims for North America currently holds the same title at Farmers Insurance.

Kim Hare will take the position Aug. 18, according to an Insurance Journal story. It says she will lead the executive operating responsibilities of the property claims business across North America for both personal and commercial claims.

Her LinkedIn says she’s held the SVP position since Jan. 2022. She was the vice president of auto claims central zone between 2018 and 2022 and western region director from 2017 to 2018.

She also worked as the division manager for 21st Century and vice president of claims, policy service and sales for GMAC Insurance for 15 years.

Tim Barziza, who currently holds the Chubb’s position will retire in April after 30 years in the industry, including 22 years at Chubb.

Chubb also recently announced that Steve Haney, vice president and division president of North America Surety and chief underwriting officer of Global Surety, has been promoted to president and chief underwriting officer of Global Surety.

Haney will have executive operating responsibilities for strategy, underwriting, and Profit and Loss (P&L) across Chubb’s Global Surety business. He will report to Juan Luis Ortega, executive vice president, Chubb Group and president of North America Insurance, and Paul McNamee, executive vice president, Chubb Group and President of Overseas General Insurance.

“Steve’s depth of experience in global surety sets him apart as a driving force in the industry, making him uniquely qualified to shape our strategy and deliver exceptional value to clients,” said Ortega in the release.

Teresa Black, executive vice president and chief operating officer of North America Surety will replace Haney. She will have executive oversight and P&L responsibility for North America.

“With Teresa’s exceptional and diverse underwriting expertise, over a decade of proven leadership including serving as chief operating officer in our Surety business, and her distinguished career in multiple facets of this business including financial lines and regional operations, she embodies the qualities needed to drive continued success for us and our clients,” said Meyer.
