Allstate announces Opus IVS agreement for Good Hands Repair Network

Allstate announced an agreement with Opus IVS for the use of ADAS MAP in its Good Hands Repair Network (GHRN) in an email to the shops on Monday. 

The email states that all GHRN shops using the software for scans will receive competitive calibration pricing, including a flat-rate five-tier calibration pricing structure and reimbursement of the $3 ADAS MAP report fee. 

“The program reinforces Allstate’s commitment to maintaining industry standards for vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and helps repair shops identify calibration needs, streamline processes, and enhance repair planning,” Allstate said in a prepared statement. 

In the email to GHRN shops, Allstate says the program addresses the need to provide options for servicing the growing complexity of ADAS technology. 

“It supports GHRN shops in evaluating the need for ADAS-related operations during initial estimates, supplements, and post-repair processes,” the email says. “Key considerations include vehicle age, damage severity, ADAS features, restraint system deployment, and OEM repair procedures, among other considerations.”

Allstate notes the benefits of the Opus IVS Program include: 

    • VIN-specific identification of factory-equipped ADAS features
    • Integration with CCC Estimating 
    • Enables shops to quickly identify calibration procedures, streamlining this portion of the estimating process 
    • Enhanced repair planning and cycle-time efficiency opportunities 

Allstate will be taking a phased rollout approach. Secondary communication will be sent when shops can enroll in the program, the email says. Once enrolled, Opus IVS will reach out to initiate the ADAS MAP onboarding process, it says. 

The email does not explain the flat-rate five-tier calibration pricing structure, nor does it provide the prices.  

In August, Allstate said a circulating email, which claimed the insurance company had a pricing agreement with asTech and Opus IVS, was false. 

The email, sent to a repair facility by an Allstate employee, states that Allstate established agreements with asTech and Opus IVS for scanning and calibration services. It listed prices for different operations, including static and dynamic calibrations 

“The information in the document is not accurate and does not reflect any contractual agreement,” a statement from Allstate to Repairer Driven News says. “The vendors are approved, not preferred, providers for our Good Hands Repair Network.”

The program announced Monday sounds similar to a State Farm program that was nationally rolled out for its Select Service repair facilities earlier this year. 

It also uses Opus IVS as the preferred provider for scans completed by its network and provides a part code table pricing for calibrations at CCC. 

A State Farm email sent to its Select service shops in April says that the repair shops will incur a $3 charge per VIN when an estimate is run through ADAS MAP, adding that the charge is a 40% discount on the retail price of $5 per VIN. 

According to the email, facilities are free to choose their diagnostic tool and remote service provider; however, the amount billed for the calibration should not exceed the price State Farm would have paid per the part code table it has established. 

It adds that State Farm has identified local mobile/car-side service providers that will perform the calibrations at State Farm’s part code table pricing. It directs repair facilities to the Opus landing page as a way to find mobile/car-side providers. 

Soon after State Farm’s rollout, collision shops told Repairer Driven News they felt pressure to meet the insurer’s prices for calibration procedures. 

State Farm’s program followed an agreement made last year between asTech and GEICO for standardized prices for repair scans and calibrations for its repair network. 

Driven Brands also has an agreement with Farmers Guaranteed Repair Program (GRP), which outlines calibration and scanning pricing.
