IDEAS Collide returns with new voices, new ‘thought-provoking’ ideas to spur industry

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) invites SEMA Show attendees to experience “one of the most dynamic and thought-provoking events of the week” — the IDEAS Collide Showcase, taking place Nov. 5 from 2:30–4 p.m. in the Upper South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The showcase features multiple fast-paced, 10-minute presentations designed to spark creativity, challenge assumptions, and inspire transformative action within the collision repair industry, an SCRS press release states.
Each speaker brings a unique perspective — from inside and outside the industry — aimed at rethinking business challenges and igniting meaningful progress.
One of those unique perspectives comes from John Yoswick, publisher and editor of CRASH Network.
In “Three Minutes to Help Drivers Make Better Insurance Choices,” Yoswick said he’ll highlight ways people in the industry can spend just a few minutes every month, or however often they can, to make a difference for businesses, customers, and insurers.
“For instance, they could take 15 minutes and file an inquiry with the DEG about something — an issue they see in the estimating databases,” he said. “Or they could take 15 minutes and file a complaint with CAPA about a certified non-OEM part that doesn’t fit well.”
He added that another way shops can help the industry as a whole is to participate in CRASH Network’s annual Insurer Report Card.
“By grading the insurers that they work with, that in turn will help consumers make better, more informed choices about the insurance they choose for their own vehicles,” Yoswick said. “It will help the insurance companies that shops give the highest grades to help them compete for more business against maybe some of the insurers who get lower grades. That would help shops have more customers carrying insurance with the companies that shops would prefer to work with.
The IDEAS Collide Showcase is part of the SCRS Repairer Driven Education (RDE) series at the SEMA Show — a lineup of sessions dedicated to advancing collision repair professionals through education, collaboration, and innovation. Registration and a complete outline of each session are available online at scrs.com/rde.
“The IDEAS Collide Showcase has annually gathered some of the most forward-thinking voices in and around the collision repair industry,” said Michael Bradshaw, SCRS chairman, in the release. “I’ve been privileged to participate, and I know how much the concept pushed me out of my comfort zone to craft a unique message. Each of these presenters has been challenged to take their idea and craft it in a way that inspires and equips attendees with a concept that makes them think about the industry or their business through a different lens. I’m really excited for this year’s lineup.”
Yoswick echoed a similar sentiment for why he signed up to participate in the IDEAS Collide Showcase — “it’s an audience that comes open to new ideas and wants to look for ways to move the industry forward.”
As outlined by SCRS, other 2025 IDEAS Collide presenters and topics include:
