State Farm to use CCC, Mitchell for Select Service Network

State Farm notified shops on its Select Service Network Monday that it will be rolling out a dual platform estimating approach after testing the option. 

“As you know, State Farm has been exploring the use of an additional estimating solution for its Select Service network,” an email from the insurance company says. “Based on industry feedback, we have been testing the capability of a dual platform approach.” 

Moving forward, Select Service repairers will be given the option to write their estimates on CCC One or Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE), according to the email. 

Potential total loss evaluations made with MCE will be submitted through CCC’s Quick Val applications. 

“Select Service repairers will choose their estimating platform over the next several months; a timeline is being created for a phased rollout for those repair facilities that decide to use MCE,” the email states. 

State Farm did not answer a request from Repairer Driven News for more information. 

CCC said it was unable to answer a question about whether the dual platform will only be for Select Service shops or the entire industry. 

Currently, CCC is used by more than 30,000 collision repair facilities in the nation, said Michelle Hellyar, CCC corporate marketing senior director, in an email. 

“While many shops use multiple estimating systems, CCC consistently leads in shop preference and usage,” Hellyar said. 

Hellyar also said the company provides the industry’s largest dedicated field support team. 

Mitchell also didn’t answer a question about whether the dual platform would be extended to shops outside of the State Farm network. 

“Mitchell has long-standing relationships with many of the leading insurers, including State Farm,” said Katie Pierini, a spokesperson for Mitchell. “However, it is not practice to publicly disclose the details of any past, present, or future collaboration without consent.”
