Honda launches licensed insurance agency for customers of its brand and Acura

American Honda Motor Co. has established a licensed insurance agency for Honda and Acura customers.
A press release states that Honda Insurance Solutions will provide a convenient shopping experience with competitive pricing and coverage options for autos, motorcycles, RVs, homes, and more.
Honda Insurance Solutions promises a wide range of insurance options, including auto insurance with optional OEM parts coverage, which “ensures claim repairs are made using Honda and Acura Genuine Parts, helping to protect vehicle value,” the release states.
Customers in all 50 states can access comparative price quotes from top insurance providers, with guidance from licensed insurance agents with omnichannel insurance broker VIU by HUB.
“Honda Insurance Solutions offers customers access to coverage through a brand they know and trust,” said Petar Vucurevic, American Honda Insurance Solutions president and American Honda Finance Corp. senior vice president, in the release. “Insurance is a key touchpoint in the vehicle ownership journey, and we aim to deliver a superior experience tailored to the unique needs of each customer, while promoting safer driving and increased peace of mind on the road.”
Honda has a broader insurance strategy in the works with plans to integrate offerings into digital vehicle sales platforms and develop new products that enhance safety and convenience, according to the release.
“This is just the beginning of our vision for Honda Insurance Solutions that will see insurance integrated throughout the Acura and Honda digital customer journeys,” said Vucurevic.
A recent Guardian Service survey of 1,000 Americans found that the majority are decreasing their auto insurance coverage and putting off big purchases to make ends meet due to “rising cost of living and fears of a looming recession.”
Twenty-four percent, or nearly 1 in 4 people surveyed, said they have downgraded or dropped insurance to free up cash. One in three said they would temporarily go without insurance to free up funds for necessities. Thirty-five percent have delayed or canceled plans to purchase a home (22%), car (8%), or both (5%) this year.
