Stellantis and Microsoft announced a five-year collaboration aimed at advancing AI, cybersecurity and engineering, according to a press release

The two teams will co-develop more than 100 AI initiatives across sales, customer care, operations and driving innovation at a global scale, the release says.

Stellantis also plans to strengthen its global cyber defense center with AI-driven analytics, it says. This will help prevent cyberthreats and protect, vehicles, customers and operations worldwide.

A scalable cloud modernization will also boost agility, performance and a more interconnected digital ecosystem with a targeted 60% datacenter footprint reduction by 2029, it adds.

“At Stellantis, we have been inventing for more than 100 years with one goal in mind: creating products, services and experiences customers love,” Ned Curic, Stellantis chief engineering & technology officer, said. “As AI rapidly advances, we have been early adopters across our business, from engineering and manufacturing to design and customer interaction, embedding AI directly into our vehicles, from the new digital cabin to the core vehicle Operating System. Through our collaboration with Microsoft, we are accelerating our AI momentum across the enterprise, giving our teams the tools to innovate faster and deliver the products, services and experiences customers expect from us.”

AI will be used for product development and validation, along with predictive maintenance and testing. It is also expected to speed up the deployment of new digital features and services.

Features could include Peugeot drivers receiving recommendations for more energy-efficient driving in urban environments along with proactive vehicle-health insights and feature updates designed to improve everyday usability, the release says.

An AI-driven cyber defense center spanning IT systems, connected vehicles, manufacturing sites and digital products will be deployed, enabling Stellantis to anticipate and detect cyberthreats faster, ensure consistent protection of connected services and customer data and strengthen resilience and response capabilities across global operations.

For example, Jeep drivers will receive reliable connectivity and protected data access even in remote terrain.

Stellantis will also modernize its infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, targeting a 60% reduction in the company’s datacenter footprint by 2029. It is expected to power a more interconnected and scalable digital ecosystem supporting seamless delivery of digital and connected services for customers and strengthening operational resilience across global manufacturing and logistics.
